Highlights
- Nineteen athletes showed measurable HRV improvement after using NanoVi® following training.
- Average RMSSD increased by more than 15%, with one in four athletes improving by over 20%.
- The improvement was statistically significant (p = 0.0001), indicating stronger parasympathetic activation and recovery capacity.
- Findings suggest that incorporating NanoVi® Exo sessions post-training can meaningfully support athletic recovery and performance optimization.
Recovery is one of the most critical components of peak performance. For elite athletes, optimizing the body’s ability to recover after intense training can make the difference between maintaining or losing performance capacity. A recent study set out to determine whether NanoVi® technology could help accelerate recovery by improving autonomic balance, as measured through heart rate variability (HRV).
Study Overview
This study focused on the NanoVi® Exo device and its effect on HRV — specifically the RMSSD parameter, a reliable indicator of parasympathetic activation and the body’s ability to recover from stress and exertion.
Twenty performance athletes were assessed after standard training sessions. HRV was first measured immediately post-training, and again after either:
- A 20-minute NanoVi® Exo session, or
- A 20-minute rest period without NanoVi®.
- A two-tailed t-test was used to compare recovery outcomes between the two conditions.
Results
The results were striking: 19 out of 20 athletes experienced improved HRV following NanoVi® use. On average, RMSSD increased by more than 15%, with 25% of participants showing gains of at least 20%. Only one athlete showed a minor decrease (–1.3%), though this participant had an unusually high baseline HRV — 8.5% higher than the next highest athlete.
Statistical analysis confirmed that the difference between NanoVi® and rest was highly significant (p = 0.0001), demonstrating clear physiological benefits of NanoVi® for recovery.
Conclusions
The study concluded that NanoVi® Exo significantly enhances parasympathetic activation and supports faster recovery in performance athletes. By helping the body restore autonomic balance more efficiently, NanoVi® may allow athletes to recover between sessions, train more effectively, and sustain peak performance over time.

Figure 1. Change in heart rate variability (HRV) following a 20-minute NanoVi® Exo session in performance athletes. After a standard training session, athletes showed an average increase of 15.3% in RMSSD, a key HRV metric reflecting parasympathetic activity and recovery capacity. Improvements were observed in 19 out of 20 athletes, with 25% showing increases of at least 20%. The enhancement in autonomic balance was statistically significant (p = 0.0001), suggesting that NanoVi® use may accelerate post-exercise recovery through parasympathetic activation.
