Study #3 – NanoVi® Therapy and Cardiometabolic Health: Measurable Benefits in Just 20 Minutes

Cardiometabolic health plays a central role in overall well-being, influencing everything from daily energy levels to long-term disease risk. Optimizing oxygen utilization and metabolic flexibility can be a game-changer for both athletes and individuals seeking to improve their health. A recent study evaluated how a single 20-minute session with the NanoVi® bio-optimization device affected key cardiometabolic markers in healthy individuals.

The research team used the PNOĒ metabolic analyzer, a clinically validated system that measures 23 biomarkers relevant to metabolic health. Ten participants of varying fitness levels underwent both resting and active cardio-metabolic assessments before and after a 20-minute NanoVi® session. Testing included an 8–10 minute resting metabolic test, a 10–12 minute metabolic test, and a 15-minute active test on a cycle ergometer, where intensity gradually increased until participants reached 8 out of 10 on the perceived exertion scale. After exercise, participants rested for 5 minutes before starting the NanoVi® session, during which they breathed normally through a nasal cannula in a relaxed, seated position.

The results were clear:

  • Significant improvements in VO₂ max, resting respiratory exchange ratio (RER), and crossover point, all indicators of better fat-burning efficiency and metabolic flexibility.
  • Positive, but not statistically significant, trends in resting metabolic rate (RMR) and tidal volume (VT).
  • Fitter participants (higher baseline VO₂ max) showed the most pronounced benefits, possibly due to greater capillary density and oxygen absorption capacity.


The authors concluded that a single 20-minute NanoVi® session can significantly enhance fat oxidation, aerobic capacity, and metabolic efficiency, with fitter individuals responding most strongly. These results support the potential of NanoVi® therapy to improve metabolic health and justify further investigation into its applications.

Significant improvements were observed in VO max (+7.8%), resting respiratory exchange ratio (RER; −11.0%), and heart rate crossover (+5.6%), indicating enhanced oxygen utilization, greater fat oxidation, and improved metabolic flexibility. Trends toward improvement were also seen in resting energy expenditure (+7.6%) and maximum tidal volume (VT; +5.2%), suggesting more efficient breathing and energy use.
